Anestesia en Cirugía Ortopédica y en Traumatología es una obra sin par, porque, entre otras muchas razones: • Pone de manifiesto la disminución del riesgo de los pacientes de cirugía ortopédica y traumatológica, proporcionando una seguridad como nunca se había alcanzado, gracias a los avances en la técnica quirúrgica, en la preparación del paciente y en las técnicas y cuidados anestésicos, a la disminución de la transfusión y a la prevención de las complicaciones. • Trata extensamente muchos de los avances en los cuidados del paciente quirúrgico, como las técnicas anestésicas regionales continuas y de ahorro transfusional o la tromboprofilaxis. • Destaca la eficacia actual de la analgesia postoperatoria con bloqueos nerviosos en procedimientos dolorosos en su mayoría, que permite la recuperación funcional precoz, la movilidad física y la rehabilitación inmediata de las que dependen los resultados quirúrgicos. • Ofrece una excelente composición del contenido y la cohesión entre las distintas partes, con la participación conjunta de anestesiólogos y cirujanos ortopedas en muchos de los temas tratados y un panorama amplio y clarificador para ambos especialistas. En este libro está todo lo que un anestesiólogo puede y debe conocer sobre la anestesia en ortopedia y traumatología y es una fuente de consulta para los cirujanos ortopedas y un ejemplo de cómo deben abordarse las subespecialidades anestésicas para que los anestesiólogos sigan permitiendo y favoreciendo los buenos resultados de la cirugía, como lo han hecho desde el principio de su historia.
